✦ ABOUT THE ARTIST ✦

Albert Dubout was a French cartoonist, illustrator, painter, and sculptor
born in Marseille in 1905. He produced over 80 film and advertising posters
during his career, but he is best loved today for his witty, expressive
cats — affectionate, mischievous, and unmistakably French. His drawings
have been licensed onto a beloved line of tableware by Editions Clouet
for decades, making them sought-after collectibles for cat lovers and
fans of mid-century European illustration alike.
