A beautiful pair of antique Art Deco drop earrings in sterling silver, set with rich purple emerald-cut amethyst centers and surrounded by intricate marcasite fan and scroll detailing. A wonderfully classic 1920s–1930s design with all the elegance of the period.
Each oval drop features a faceted amethyst (genuine purple gemstone, not paste or glass) bezel-set at the center, framed by a sunburst-and-bow motif densely paved with sparkling marcasite stones (genuine iron pyrite). The design hangs from a small marcasite-set bell-shaped finial and secure leverback closures. The reverse is marked "STERLING" — consistent with American/European silver hallmarking of the Art Deco era.
