Antique Whiting Imperial Queen Sterling Silver Cream Ladle | Pat. 1893 | 5.8" 29.2g | Shell Bowl | Unpolished Patina
[The Piece]
An exquisite antique sterling silver cream ladle in the regal "Imperial Queen" pattern by the prestigious Whiting Manufacturing Co. (a division of Gorham). Patented in 1893, this piece is a quintessential example of high-Victorian Rococo Revival craftsmanship.
[Design & Artistry]
Pattern: Imperial Queen (Ornate floral and shell motifs).
Handle: Features a highly detailed, heavy relief design with elegant scrolls and blossoms.
Bowl: A stunning, deep-fluted scalloped shell bowl that catches the light beautifully.
Monogram: None. No personalized engravings, which is rare for a piece of this age.
[Condition & Patina]
Unpolished: This ladle is in excellent antique condition and has been intentionally left unpolished.
Patina: It retains its original, rich natural patina. The dark oxidation in the deep crevices creates a dramatic contrast that makes the floral details "pop." (If a mirror-bright finish is preferred, it can be easily polished with a soft cloth, but we recommend keeping its historic character).
[Specifications]
Material: Solid Sterling Silver (.925).
Weight: 29.2 Grams.
Length: Approx. 5.8 Inches.
Hallmarks: Stamped with the Whiting lion hallmark, "STERLING", and "PAT. 1893".
[Perfect For]
A magnificent serving piece for cream, sauces, or dressings. It makes a sophisticated addition to any Victorian silver collection or a unique gift for a wedding or heirloom enthusiast.
All sales final. Please review all photos and feel free to message with questions before purchasing.
