A pair of antique gold-filled cufflinks of oval bean-back chain-link form, each face engraved with a foliate scroll border framing a central script monogram. A classic Edwardian-into-early-20th-century men's dress style. The pieces are rolled gold / gold-filled construction, marked HAYWARD to the bar — Walter E. Hayward & Co., an American maker established in 1851 and known for gold-filled and sterling pieces. No karat (solid gold) mark is present. Each cufflink is double-sided with a smaller plain oval link joined by a curved bar, the traditional pre-war fitting that slips through both buttonholes. Condition: good antique. Both cufflinks intact and wearable, with the chain-link bars sound. There is honest surface wear with some loss of the gold layer at high points exposing the base metal underneath (see photos).
