✦ Sid Dickens Memory Block T-85 "L & R Flowers" — Retired Original Logo Edition ✦
A vintage Sid Dickens Memory Block from the early original production era. This large-format tile (8 × 6 inches), model T-85, features the iconic "L & R" monogram set into porcelain inserts, surrounded by hand-painted blue hydrangeas, with the embossed French inscription "De Paris" and a sculpted rosette medallion. The tile carries the original oval logo "MEMORY BLOCKS / SID DICKENS / INCORPORATED" on the reverse — the early branding used before the company's current crown-and-laurel logo.
About the artist and process:
Each Memory Block is handmade in Vancouver, BC, by Sid Dickens and his team. Per the artist's official description, Memory Blocks have a porcelain-like finish that has been intentionally cracked to create an aged feel and look. Tiles are hand-poured plaster, finished with multiple layers of glazing, staining, and integrated decorative elements (porcelain inserts, raised letters, embossed reliefs). The crackle patina, visible seam lines, and "aged" surface characteristic of all authentic Sid Dickens work are intentional artistic finish — not damage.
Marked on reverse:
- "MEMORY BLOCKS / SID DICKENS / INCORPORATED" (original oval logo, white on black painted ground)
- "SID DICKENS / VANCOUVER CANADA"
- Model number: T-85
- Original circular hanging hole, ready to hang
Dimensions:
- 8 × 6 inches (20.3 × 15.2 cm), approximately 2 inches deep
- Weight: 3 lb 4 oz (1.47 kg)
Condition:
Vintage condition consistent with the artist's intentional aged finish. The integrated porcelain inserts, raised letters, "De Paris" embossed strip, and rosette medallion are all secure and original. Surface displays the characteristic crackle patina, seam lines between assembled elements, and edge weathering that define authentic Sid Dickens work. No loose pieces, no missing relief. All visible characteristics documented in the photos — please review carefully.
Provenance: Sourced in person from a Pacific Northwest estate. Curated by SWCurated.
Shipping & packaging: Triple-layer bubble wrap with corner protection in a double-walled box. USPS Priority with insurance included. International buyers welcome — shipping calculated to Canada, UK, EU, and Australia. Processing: 1–2 business days. Questions before purchase always welcome.
